ACORN; The Democrats And Voter Fraud

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

snake-oil.jpgI have previously posted about Barrack Obama and his association with ACORN. Obama served as director of the Chicago chapter for this group during his formative years as a community organizer while he was cutting his politcal teeth all of 6 years ago. The hypocrisy of the elite liberal crowd looking down their noses is astounding. They loudly complain about their perceived view of Bush reaching beyond his authority in order to protect the shores of our country from terrorism, but somehow are able to ignore the outrageous and criminal conduct of a group they support and encourage to commit fraud out of their lust for political power.

Where is the outrage for the actions of members of your own party? How can you justify pointing fingers at anyone while under your congressional watch democrat surrogates are illegally busing homeless people, street drug addicts, convicted felons and people that have previously registered to vote to polling places for the purpose of electing Obama? Don’t expect anyone to take you seriously or listen to your pathetic complaints when you can’t police your own party leaders.

Here is a link to one of many stories that have been published over the last few days about ACORN and this subject.

 http://www.nypost.com/seven/10092008/postopinion/editorials/vote_fraud_a_go_go_132852.htm

ACORN submitted more than 800 phony registration forms in Independence, Mo., with one woman registering 10 times, using three birthdates, four different Social Security numbers and six different phone numbers.

Obama’s Radical Connections

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

cari_obama.gifMuch has been written about Barrack Obama’s connection to people known for their radical views and personal behavior. Including Bernadine Dhorn and William Ayers, associated with the 1960’s radical terrorist group known as the Weather Underground. Ayers and Dhorn were responsible for detonating bombs at the NYPD headquarters and the US Capitol building, and are unrepentent for their actions maintaining in his 2002 memoir ” I don’t regret setting bombs, I don’t feel we did enough”.  Obama’s Chicago connection to Dhorn and Ayers includes over 20 years of community action activism and serving on boards of left wing non profits.

We have been overexposed to the toxic rantings of Jeremiah Wright and Father Plegher, both associated with the Obama families church which they attended for 20 years. Obama is also known to have friendly and supportive relationship with Black Panther leader and social extremist Louis Farrakhan. Obama served on the board of the Joyce Foundation, a Chicago based non profit set up to support gun control advocates and other left leaning agendas. Obama also has deep tentacles into the Chicago Democratic underground. (Think Daly family).

There are also many other nefarious characters whose lives and careers are well documented that have been close confidants and supporters of Obama. Too many to list here.

In my opinion one of Obama’s greatest lapses in judgement is his long standing association with ACORN. Obama cut his political teeth working with and for ACORN on community projects, such as Get Out The Vote (GOTV), a program that has an embarrassing reputation for implementing voter fraud street initiatives in order to elect Democratic candidates to offices across the country. ACORN members in some instances were charged, convicted and sentenced for voter fraud under the direction of ACORN leadership.

ACORN’s active involvement in the Obama campaign is likely to be significant. ACORN’s “non-partisan” Project Vote has announced its plans to register hundreds of thousands of voters before the November election. That should concern all Americans given the record of highly-publicized voter fraud, voter intimidation, vote rigging and vote-for-pay allegations lodged against ACORN in Ohio (2004), Wisconsin (2004), Florida 2004), New Mexico (2004), Colorado (2005), Missouri (2006), and Washington state (2007).

ACORN owns two radio stations, a housing corporation, and a law office, and maintains affiliate relationships with a host of trade-union locals. ACORN also runs schools where children are trained in class consciousness; a network of “boot camps” for training street activists; and operations that extort contributions from banks and other businesses under threat of racial violence and trumped-up civil rights charges.

ACORN’s get-out-the-vote activists were implicated in schemes that included the falsification and destruction of thousands of voter registration forms, and the registering of convicted felons even in states where felons are ineligible to vote.

In 2006, approximately 20,000 questionable voter registration forms were turned in by ACORN officials in Missouri – virtually all in the St. Louis and Kansas City areas, where ACORN purportedly sought to help empower the “disenfranchised” minorities living there. Similar allegations of ACORN voter fraud were made in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Colorado. Between 2004 and 2006, ACORN employees were accused of submitting fraudulent voter registration cards and forging signatures on ballot initiatives in 12 states.

The moral of this story is simple. When I was a young  boy my parents taught that you could tell a lot about a person by the company they kept and those they associated with. Obama has an adult history that speaks volumes about his character and personal values, based on his choice of friends, colleagues, pastor, mentors, and associates. His voting record as a Senator also illustrates his very liberal/socialist views. No one should be judged by the actions of individuals who they may come into contact with during a career - particularly in politics. However, when the track record is so consistent and clear, inarguably well documented and totally damning, as is Obama’s - you are likely to be cast in the same ilk as those who you associate with.

 Voter beware.

It has been a couple of months since my last post. Sometimes life takes you in unexpected directions that require adjusted priorities and focused attention. I have missed many news items worth posting about. Including the election, economy, gas prices, immigration and why the democrats are to blame for many of our problems.

 Stay tuned…

The Clintons, The Chinese and Alibaba

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

hillary-clinton-eyes.jpgA front page story in Sunday April 13th, 2008 Los Angeles Times reports on the Clinton’s fund raising sources for post Presidential construction of the Clinton Library and other charities supported by the William J. Clinton Foundation.

The Clinton foundation has raised over $500 million dollars and contributes money to well deserving causes such as research of disease, assistance to aids victims and poverty relief in third world countries.

According to the LA Times and other sources, at the invitation of Alibaba, China’s largest internet company, Bill Clinton spoke at a conference in Hangzhou and deferred his normal $100 - $400k speaking fee in exchange for an undisclosed contribution to his Foundation.

The problem with this is that the Clinton’s have refused to release a donor list of the Foundation. How are we to know what favors have been promised to foreign companies or governments in exchange for large donations to Bill’s favorite charity - himself.

It is also widely known that the Clinton Library in Little Rock has received millions of dollars from Saudi families, Middle East sheikdoms in Kuwait and Qatar as well as the governments of Taiwan and Brunei. What promises have been made? What favors are owed?

Bill Clinton has a long track record of using his considerable political influence to repay debt. Look at his record for pardons issued, particularly while packing up Whitehouse dishes and linens on their exit from Pennsylvania Ave the last time.

As further evidence of his unabashed shamelessness there is the  New York Times story published in January of this year which describes a sweet heart deal arranged by Bill Clinton in which his foundation received over $31 million dollars in exchange for publicly expressing support for the leader of former Soviet Republic Kazakhstan to head an international organization that monitors elections and supports democracy, despite the fact that his support was in direct conflict with American foreign policy and his Senator wife’s own public comments about human rights violations by leaders of Kazakhstan. The deal also resulted in a Canadian businessman receiving a plutonium mining contract with the country of Kazakhstan worth tens of millions of dollars in exchange for donations to the Clinton Foundation.

I have previously posted about the Clinton’s. They continue to behave as if what they do and say is irrelevant in their pursuit of the Whitehouse and their personal gain. With them the end always justifies the means. I can’t think of more frightening scenario then having them back in the Whitehouse.

Sir Elton John and Hillary Clinton

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

eltonhillary.jpgElton John performed last night at Radio City Music Hall in New York City as part of 2.5 million dollar fund raising event for Hillary. Between songs midway through the event Elton took a moment to say “…I never cease to be amazed at the misogynistic attitude of some people in this country. And I say to hell with them… I love you, Hillary. I’ll be there for you.”

How predictable that sooner or later someone would allege that Hillary is losing because of gender or more precisely, chauvinism. I am disappointed that it was Elton John. I have enjoyed his music since the release of “Yellow Brick Road” in 1972. But I am not surprised that this kind of simple minded comment would come from an entertainer.

Hillary is losing because many American voters see her for the self serving, egotistical, self ritgheous, well heeled politician that she and her husband have embodied. They both believe that they are entitled to the Whitehouse. They believe it is their turn again, as if the Presidency is right of membership for exclusive club members. As if that wasn’t reason enough to exclude her from consideration, examine her record as First Lady of Arkansas, First Lady of America and Senator. I have previously reported on the Clintons legacy 3/3/08, 1/27/08  and how they will be viewed by history.

Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

John McCain - Liberal Record

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

lieberman-and-mccain.jpg

Juan McCain has an uphill battle trying to convince the conservative base that he will represent them on fundamental issues of long term or permanent tax cuts, enforcement of immigration laws, gun ownership, right to life, appointment of conservative judges and business friendly policies. He can not stand on his record while making those promises. Here is a review of McCain’s record.

For starters, there was McCain-Feingold. This bill was well intended. The purpose was to regulate the way in which corporations, and phony non profits funded by special interest groups, advertise within 30 days of an election. The intended affect was to prevent lobbyist groups with deep pockets from literally buying an election simply because they had more financial backing to advertise. However, some argue that the bill injected more government intervention into what should be a free process. What is inarguable is that America now has what amounts to a federal speech code, enforced with jail terms of up to five years. Not to mention McCain’s association with another liberal senator.

McCain-Kennedy was perhaps one of the biggest political blunders of his career. This was a failed attempt to undermine an already poorly administrated immigration enforcement policy. As they say, you can tell a lot about someone, based on who they associate with. Enough said.

McCain-Lieberman requires reduced emissions to 80 percent below 1990 levels by 2050, beginning in 2010. Some view this as an attack on American industry that will result in a huge economic impact.

According to a study by Charles River Associates, if implemented:

  • would cost the average U.S. household at least $1,300 per year by 2010, rising to at least $2,300 per year by 2020;
    • would cost the U.S. economy at least 250,000 jobs in 2010, and at least 610,000 jobs by 2020;
    • would force at least a 31 percent rise in electricity prices by 2010, and at least a 43 percent rise in electricity prices by 2020; and
    • would force at least a 23 percent rise in gasoline prices by 2010, and at least a 37 percent rise in gasoline prices by 2020.

Under the plan, the federal government would lose at least $18.8 billion per year in tax revenue by 2010, with the states suffering similar, proportional losses.

The new Charles River study is especially informative for state legislators because it breaks down costs on a state-by-state basis reflecting local economic factors.

For example, the study reports Illinoisans would suffer even more under McCain-Lieberman 2004 than the national average. McCain-Lieberman 2004 would cost the average Illinois household at least $700 per year by 2010 and at least $1,100 per year by 2020. Similarly, the New England governors’ plan would disproportionately affect Illinoisans by forcing at least a $1,400 decline in average household income by 2010, and at least a $2,400 decline in average household income by 2020.

McCain was the leader of the Gang of 14. The Gang of 14 successfully stopped the Republican Senatorial leadership from changing Senate rules that would have ended filibusters to prevent majority approval of judicial nominees.

So, what is a conservative to do? The way I see it McCain is by far the lesser of evils given the choices we have. In fact, you could make the argument that out of all the Republican candidates McCain may be the only one to have a legitimate chance of winning the election. He can argue to the independents and those abandoning Hillary that his record speaks to them. He will have to do that quietly so as not to ignite another firestorm within conservative supporters.

Geraldine Ferraro And Why Can’t We Speak The Truth?

Thursday, March 13th, 2008

ferraro.jpg

Geraldine Ferraro stepped down as a member of one of Hillary Clintons finance committee’s yesterday after news media and the Obama campaign seized on her comments about Obama’s success so far in this election.

What she said was “I think what America feels about a woman becoming president takes a very secondary place to Obama’s campaign — to a kind of campaign that it would be hard for anyone to run against. If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position, and if he was a woman [of any color] he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept.”

What Ferraro said was spot on if taken in the context it was intended. Obama is playing the race card because it benefits him to do so. Not because he believes her remarks were racist, but because he is a seasoned politician who won’t miss any opportunity to leverage his position by associating his opponent with the perceived offender. As I’ve said many times before, the end always justifies the means in American politics.

Obama should have leveraged Ferraro’s comments as an affirmation rather than a mean spirited discrimination. This election is historic. He should have celebrated the acknowledgement, rather than vilify and condemn her for speaking the truth. I think he missed a great opportunity to separate himself from the predictable attack dog campaign style we are weary of seeing. This should have been a moment in which Obama demonstrated his ability to unify rather than divide.

I am not a speech writer, but had I been asked what he should say in response it would have been something like:

“Thank you Geraldine for raising this prickly issue. It is important that we discuss this so that it does not become a campaign theme because there are way too many other things that the American people really care about for this to distract us from our mission of hope and change. I am proud of my African American ethnicity as all Americans should be of their families history. Isn’t it wonderful that so many new people have found their way into the election process as they exercise their right to vote. We are seeing people all across the nation realize one of the great promises of freedom and liberty by participating in this election. If the fact that I am a black man has contributed to this phenomenal surge of interest, then I am proud to be part of that success. The rest of the world is watching, so lets not disappoint them with boorish behavior by debating non issues. Instead join me in the celebration of a new day in America, where an African American man and a female of any race or color has a legitimate opportunity to be elected President of the United States”.

In my opinion comments like that would have earned him far more collateral then the dishonest objections promoted by his campaign.

Both Clinton and Obama reassured Canada on trade

Friday, March 7th, 2008

donkey-heads.jpgReports that Barack Obama’s campaign had surreptitiously contacted the Canadian government to reassure them that the tough talk about renegotiating NAFTA was not to be taken seriously, surfaced immediately following last weeks Democratic Presidential debate.

Both Obama and Clinton rebuked the current version of the NAFTA agreement during the debate and committed to either forcing Canada and Mexico back to the bargaining table or threatening to completely renege on the deal. Clinton attempted to distance herself from her record of supporting the NAFTA agreement implemented under her husbands administration.

What is particularly interesting about this story is the Clinton campaign had attacked Obama for several days for saying one thing at the debate and then having “a wink and nod” meeting with Canada. Hillary has been on the attack and has used this in stump speeches in Wyoming and Pennsylvania, two states holding primaries over the next couple of weeks. Now it is being reported that her campaign had a similar meeting or discussion with the same official at the Canadian embassy in Washington.

Neither of these candidates are being honest with the American people. They both appeared on national television and told us how serious they were about fixing the mess  Hillary’s husband created during his Presidency, with her support and admiration. Now it turns out they both have a back door message to Canada that it is ‘only words’, not to worry.

I have previously posted about the Clintons arrogance and lack of honesty. Now we have another Democratic Presidential candidate who doesn’t know the difference between the truth and lies.

Both Clinton and Obama reassured Canada on trade: reports

(AFP) — US presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton’s campaign, while rapping rival Barack Obama for telling US voters he is anti-NAFTA and saying otherwise to Canada, tried to reassure Canada too, local media said Thursday.

It’s your call, Hillary

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

hillary-the-clown.jpgI have previously posted about the Clinton campaign stating my opinion about their arrogance toward the American people and the transparent attitude of entitlement of the Presidency. It amazes me how gullible we (voters) are when it comes to trusting what politicians say, as opposed to examining the long and clear record of the individual.

I read an op-ed piece this morning in the LA Times by Rosa Brooks who is a professor at the Georgetown Law Center and national columnist with contributions to among other publications, the Los Angeles Times. In it she illustrates another way in which Hillary will put herself above the party and country to do what serves her selfish interests. If the DNC or party leaders don’t step in before long this will only hurt them. Don’t get me wrong, I am enjoying the entertainment.

On a slightly similar subject, won’t it be interesting to see how the Democrats solve the dilemma of Michigan and Florida delegates? Stay tuned for more on that topic.

It’s your call, Hillary

Hillary? Hillary?

What? It’s 3 a.m.? Yes, I know that. Look, I’m sorry if I woke you up. But you said you were fine with 3 a.m. calls.

Democratic Presidential Debate

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

tdy_miitchell_debate_080227.jpgLast nights debate was interesting for a couple of reasons. Watching the great skill and calm demeanor of Barrack Obama, even during the intense and sometimes emotional discharge of Hillary Clinton was intriguing. He seems to absorb all that is being said, but quickly is able to distill the words, separating the waste from the perfumery, preparing a response.

I don’t like his ideology, but he is a remarkable speaker and thinker.

Secondly, and perhaps most importantly, I saw Hillary quit last night. I saw it in her body language and in her tone, particulalry in the late stages of the debate. Despite Clinton reaching deep into her arsenal for some of the strongest attacks in any of the previous debates, Obama simply deflected them and selectively responded without so much as furrowing a brow.

Juan McCain will have a very difficult time against someone so talented.

Tim Russert gets some of the credit for Hillary’s awkward demeanor. Thanks Tim, for not letting her lie again about her record on NAFTA. Thank you for holding her accountable.
